Elka's Active Optical Cable (AOC) is Now Complete

Optical fibers are highly applicable for analogue or digital information signal transmission since they can be made longer, thinner and lighter, as well as easier to install in walls or ceilings than traditional copper wires.

For example, an HDMI active optical cable (AOC) is an ideal solution for audio-visual installation. It is 0.45mm thinner and is able to provide connection up to 100m with resolutions up to 4K at 60Hz. Optical fibers are also frequently used for data transfer because the number of devices featuring DisplayPort or USB is considerably boosted. The high-end one among those devices can often be located in a data center or computer room far from an end user.

Elka has been specializing in HDMI AOC for many years. Due to our accumulated experience of data transmission, at the beginning of 2018, we moved to the new AOC on the basis of DisplayPort and USB standards. Elka has promoted our AOC series at every exhibition we participated in. We are now ready to bring a complete solution to signal and data transmission over an AOC.

Elka is CPR and CMP Certified for its HDMI AOC

In Europe and the USA, an Active Optical Cable (AOC) has to be tested and certified according to their countries’ respective regulations- the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) of Europe and the National Electrical Code (NEC) of USA. Both of them require the AOC to satisfy their respective fire resistance safety requirements. In October 2018, our upgraded HDMI AOC was certified by the authorized test labs to be in compliance with the CPR and CMP rating. Elka has the ideal solution for long distance transmission with Ultra HD across the EU and USA.
